Zaria Hardy, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a compassionate, relational therapist, who is invested and attuned to your healing process. I believe healing happens through connection: connection to yourself, to your emotions, and to the people who matter most to you. I work with teens, adults, couples, parents, and families to help strengthen communication, deepen emotional understanding, and create healthier, more secure relationships. Together, we work toward uncovering the patterns, wounds, and protective strategies that may be keeping you disconnected from yourself or others.

I offer in-person therapy at our Alexandria, VA office as well as Tele-health statewide.

With over six years of experience in private practice settings, I bring both a fresh and seasoned approach to therapy. I have a particular passion for supporting individuals who live largely in their heads, those who can explain their pain with insight and self-awareness, but struggle to truly feel, process, or move through it emotionally. In therapy, we gently slow things down so you can begin building a more compassionate and trusting relationship with yourself, while also learning how to show up more authentically and vulnerably in your relationships.

I bring an approach that is both grounded and adaptable. I believe many of the struggles we face in relationships are rooted in earlier experiences of disconnection, safety, and belonging. Healing often begins when those experiences can be explored with compassion rather than shame. I strive to create a space where each person feels heard, understood, and valued. I help couples strengthen communication, navigate conflict with greater empathy, and better understand the emotional needs beneath behaviors and reactions. My goal is not simply to reduce tension, but to help individuals and families build deeper connection, trust, and emotional security with one another.

As a Black therapist, cultural humility is central to the way I practice. I am committed to creating a therapeutic space that honors your full identity, lived experiences, relationships, and the unique ways you move through the world. You deserve care that allows all parts of you to be seen and supported. Along with the rest of the team, I also provide neurodivergent affirming care, and am LGBTQ+ affirming.

Whether you are navigating healing from trauma, grief, anxiety, handling the pressures of a high-powered career, or other adverse stressors, I will provide attuned support. If you are struggling with identity and belonging, healing from relational wounds, working to strengthen your family relationships, or longing for a deeper connection with yourself and others, I would be honored to walk alongside you in your healing journey.

In my free time, I enjoy all the diverse experiences that the DMV offers. Enjoying events and delicious eateries alongside my family and friends brings me great joy.
