About Me

Amelia Pieti

I am a graduate level clinical social work intern passionate about creating safe, supportive spaces for children, adults, and groups who are navigating trauma, transitions, and growth. I came to social work after a career in advocacy and community organizing, where I learned the importance of helping people find their voice and create meaningful change. I believe healing starts with connection, and I’d like to walk alongside you with warmth, curiosity, and respect as you explore your story.

I’m working toward my Master of Social Work degree at the University of Maryland while serving as a Clinical Social Work Intern at Kindred Tree Healing Center. In this role, I am developing skills in trauma-informed care, attachment-based approaches, and play therapy while supporting both children and adults. I’m looking forward to supporting children who are navigating difficulty at home or school because of trauma, anxiety or support around their neurodivergence. With adults, I’m committed to providing trauma based support over relational stressors, anxiety, grief, and complex trauma.

Before entering clinical social work, I worked in policy advocacy and grassroots organizing, focusing on community well-being and environmental issues. That work taught me the power of deep listening, building trust, and standing with people as they pursue meaningful change. These are the same values I carry into every session.

In my free time, I enjoy going to concerts, exploring new cities, and cooking for my friends and family.
